Jury seated in cyclists' death trial

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Opening arguments start tomorrow in Wilmington in the trial of a man accused with hitting and killing a father and son riding their bikes.

Thomas Grooms is charged with two counts of second degree murder and driving while impaired. Troopers say Grooms hit and killed David Doolittle and his 17-year-old son Trey last April as they biked on River Road in Wilmington.

Jury selection wrapped up today in Jacksonville, where it was held because of pre-trial publicity.

District Attorney Ben David says attorneys picked a jury of eight women and four men along with three alternates.

I hope the prosecution

I hope the prosecution doesn't screw up. I hope that there is justice for Ronald and Trey. I will pray for the family.
