BLADENBORO, NC (WWAY) -- Deputies in Bladen County are investigating a shooting last night at a church in Bladenboro.

Investigators say they responded to a shooting Bryant Swamp Church just after 8 p.m. They found Reuben Lee Harrelson, 36, had been shot in the right leg after an argument with neighbors.

According to the sheriff's office, Harrelson's nephew had an argument with a group of boys at a home nearby. When Harrelson saw the group standing on the side of Bryant Swamp Road, he confronted them and a fight began. Harrelson told investigators that during the fighting, he heard gunshots and felt pain in his right leg.

The group left the area before deputies arrives.

EMS took Harrelson to Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton for treatment.

The Bladen County Sheriff's Office has information on the suspects in this case. Detectives expect charges soon.
