Return of bridge painting means return of delays, closures

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Lane closures and traffic delays are back as paint crews continue working on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge.

Work today caused major traffic, and that might be something you have to get used to as lanes will be closed daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. through the end of May.

There will be full bridge closures as well each Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. You can also expect closures saturdays from 11 p.m. until 10 a.m. on Sundays.

it it as long past time to fire these people and get some in here that can get the job done and move on. At the rate they are moving when they finish it will be time to start painting again.

For safety's sake, ALL of this work should be done at night during low traffic periods.
