Wilmington, NC (WWAY) - Tuesday night’s sports segment was jam packed with high school sports action. We featured the undefeated Topsail softball team against Croatan, as well as softball action from Whiteville versus West Bladen. We also covered baseball action from Ashley High School. The Screamin’ Eagles beat New Hanover in a walk-off thriller. We also highlighted high school baseball from New Bern versus Hoggard, Topsail against Croatan and Wilmington Christian had with a rare win against Wake Christian. We made the trip to witness Whiteville baseball take on West Bladen, but the game was postponed due to a no show from the umpires. We even added high school girls soccer action from Hoggard and New Bern.

WHITEVILLE BOYS TENNIS PLAYER DEVIN COKELY WON THE WACCAMAW TENNIS TITLE FOR THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR ON TUESDAY.

UNCW JUMPER AERIAL CHATMAN IS THE CAA FIELD ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK AFTER WINNING THE TRIPLE JUMP AND LONG JUMP LAST WEEKEND IN CHARLOTTE.

UNCW BASEBALL PLAYER THOMAS POPE EARNED CAA PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK HONORS AFTER BATTING .500 IN HIS LAST FOUR GAMES, WHICH WERE ALL WINS FOR THE SEAHAWKS.

IN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS LACROSSE, HOGGARD DEFEATED ASHLEY 18-10 ON TUESDAY. HOGGARD CLINCHED THE MIDEASTERN CONFERENCE TITLE WITH THE VICTORY.

IN HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS LACROSSE, HOGGARD DEFEATED ASHLEY 19-17 ON TUESDAY. THE VIKINGS WON THE MIDEASTERN CONFERENCE TITLE WITH THE VICTORY.
