BCC employee charged with indecent liberties with a minor

BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- A Brunswick Community College employee no longer has a job after being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old girl.

30-year-old college IT technician Josue Juarez was first suspended on Thursday, while campus police launched an investigation.

The 16-year-old attends Brunswick County Early College High School, which is on the college campus.

Juarez was arrested and charged with indecent liberties with a minor and sexual battery.

NC law says it is legal to have sex with a 16 yr old. I don't know how he could be charged as you say he has.

from what i understand about it its 16 until you turn 21.. after you turn 21 you cant legally have sex with anyone under 18

What about the 'innocent until proven guilty' theory? He should play the race card on this one, especially if he's been treated differently than other employees who have been charged with crimes.
