WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- EMS rushed a bicyclist to the hospital after he crashed into an SUV in downtown Wilmington.
Witnesses say the driver pulled out in front of the bicycle and that the man's head slammed through a window of the SUV.
The bicyclist's co-worker says he was on a delivery for Jimmy Johns.
Wilmington police are investigating.

If motorcyclists are required to wear a helmet, why not bicyclists. Common sense should tell you that your head versus a car or the asphalt - the head will lose every time. Looks like you would want all the protection you could have
