READ MORE:

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Unemployment rates fell in 93 of North Carolina’s 100 counties in April, including all five in our area, according to the North Carolina Department of Commerce - Labor and Economic Analysis Division.

As a whole, the Wilmington metro area say a 0.7-point drop from March to 9.2 percent in April. That's slightly higher than the state’s not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 9.1 percent. Only New Hanover County was below the state rate at 8.5 percent for April.

Brunswick County saw the biggest improvement from March, as the county's rate dropped 1.2 points to 9.7 percent. Columbus County still has the area's highest unemployment rate at 12.1 percent.

Unemployment rates

Just in Virginia Beach this past weekend for a FREE 3-day beach music festival & saw on the news there that VA unemployment rate is 5.6% compared to NC at 9.4%. Why is that? Their governor is doing something right to get people back to work that Perdue isn't doing.

Employment.

This is great news. It appears our President's plan is working to get us out of the quagmire that the republicans put us in. It looks like President Obama may be able to save the middle class after all. All we need now is people making over $250K to pay the same tax rate as I do and we'll be a lot better off.

Ideas

That is a bald-faced lie that you cannot prove.

Why

don't you come up with something original for once.

My husband had been steadily

My husband had been steadily employed since he was sixteen years old. When Bush was in office, he still had a job. During the time that Obama's been in office is the only time my husband has ever been unemployed. I can tell you stories of others who have been in the same boat. I can honestly say that my family was much better off four years ago.

Amazing

What a sheep. You really believe that crap? The clown in the white house is killing us. It's time for him to go, and time for you sheep to get back to grazing.

You have no idea of which you speak

On wages and earnings, they pay a substantially HIGHER rate than you do.

On capital gains and dividends they pay the exact same rate available to you, as the rate is determined by holding period and not income.

Not everybody is as ignorant and ill-informed as you liberals.

Ideas

That is a bald-faced lie that you cannot prove.

Please look....

Please look at Phillip's post. Are you being sarcastic or do you really not get it?

I'm betting...

it's the latter...and not the former.

Drinking too much...

of the Obama Kool-Aid will rot your teeth. Nice try though...thanks for playing. Obviously, you're buying into the Obama rhetoric.

DRINKING OBAMAS COOL-ADE

DRINKING OBAMAS COOL-ADE MIGHT ROT YOUR TEETH, BUT NIXONS 2-4 YEARS OF WAR, (THATS STILL GOING ON, WILL KILL YOU, AMONG OTHER THINGS. PEOPLE HAVE EITHER FORGOTTEN NIXON OR ARE POLITICALLY OF ONE MIND. I DON'T HEAR PEOPLE CONDEMENING HIM FOR A WAR THATS KILLED THOUSANDS OF MEN AND WOPMEN. WE STILL HAVE TERROIST. I,D RATHER HAVE ROTTEN TEETH THAN BE DEAD. WOULDN'T YOU?

Rhetoric

Do you think you should pay a higher percentage of your income in taxes than someone making $1,000,000 a year? Do you like Ryan's plan with cuts in medicare and social security? Do you like the republican health care plan of "just don't get sick"? I bet you voted to disenfranchise gays of some of their rights here in NC, didn't you? What rhetoric are you buying into; Newt's?

Nobody's rights have been

Nobody's rights have been disenfranchised. The matter was put up to a vote and the majority won. The homosexuals have not lost any rights. A homosexual man has the same right as a heterosexual man to marry the woman of his choice.

This is the kind

of mentality one might expect on a board that is mostly tea bagging right -wing freaks. No one spoke to the other points of Ryan's budget and cuts to Medicare and Social Security or the lack of a republican health care plan. So keep on singing the same one note song you know and see what happens in November.

The problem with a liberal's "logic" is...

you don't use logic based up facts, but merely speak in soundbites. What you don't take into account, when you say someone "makes $1 Million a year" is what the makeup of the million is. If I make a million dollars and my income is comprised entirely of capital gains, then I'm going to pay 15% in tax. If that same million was w-2 earnings, I'll pay a helluva lot more than 15%.

Therefore, instead of bashing someone who makes a million, first how they made that million before you launch into another liberal diatribe.

Its

AMAZING how ignorant people are... How about taking a trip over to the IRS website...specifically THIS, http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040tt.pdf ,PDF...can you please point out to me where YOU pay a higher percentage of income taxes than someone making 1,000,000 dollars....I'll help you with it...if you make OVER 379,150 you pay 35% that document points out one thing...YOUR BEING LIED TO and your believing it! FOR GOD'S SAKE...DONT VOTE IN NOVEMBER!

Still upset

Still upset over the gay amendment I see? I am sure in about twenty years you and Bob can make it official. In the meantime the majority has spoken. Personally I have no issue with it, but I do love to hear you liberals cry. Need some more tissue boy?

Unemployment has not gone

Unemployment has not gone down. The people who have exhausted their umemployment are not being counted any more

But if they included those

But if they included those people, then the numbers couldn't get padded.
