GREENSBORO, NC (AP) -- The jury in John Edwards' campaign corruption trial has finished its seventh day of deliberations without reaching a verdict.

The judge said Tuesday jurors are scheduled to work an extra 30 minutes if they need to on Wednesday and Thursday. They are set to leave early Friday to accommodate jurors' family commitments, including attending high school graduations.

The judge met behind closed doors Tuesday with attorneys to talk about a problem with a juror, but it's still not clear what was discussed.

Some of the alternate jurors wore matching shirts last week, and Edwards has exchanged smiles with one of the alternate jurors, a woman.

Edwards faces six charges involving nearly $1 million provided by two wealthy donors to help hide his pregnant mistress as he sought the White House.

Witch Hunt

This is nothing more than a witch hunt perpetrated by the white republicans. John Edwards is a good man that treated his wife and his lover with the utmost respect and dignity. So what if he used a little campaign fund money to keep this all on the down low. Wouldn't you do the same? He had the best interest of the people of this great nation at heart. He would have made a great vice president. Obama and Edwards for 2012!!!

Respect and Dignity?

I'm not quite sure which edge of the universe you were raised on, but when a public figure, running for president of the United States has an extra-marital affair, and fathers an illegitimate child while his sick wife lays on her death-bed. That's called lack of honor and lack of integrity. He's a slimy dog and should be treated as such!
"...used a little campaign money..."? Try about 1.4 million! I'm hoping your post is nothing but sarchasm, because if you really believe what you say, you would make the perfect Jim Jones disciple and would willingly drink his kool-aide with a smile! Geeeez!!!

Scary

It is idiots like you that vote based upon looks instead of record and character that put our current problem in the White House.

Warlock

I agree completely with all my heart.
