With baseball out of Olympics, Team USA prepares for Honkball


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Team USA is in town.

The Wilmington Sharks will step out of Coastal Plain League play tonight to host the Collegiate National Team at Buck Hardee Field.

The team is made up of some of the best players in the country, including some who just joined the team after their schools were eliminated from the College World Series.

"I think it is special we get to bounce around from city to city and let people see their representative," Team USA Manager Dave Serrano said. "I think we have a special group of guys that will continue to represent the United States of America as we play here and abroad."

Without baseball in the Olympics this year, the Collegiate National Team is prepping for Honkball, which is an international tournament held in the Netherlands.
