BELVILLE, NC (WWAY) -- Belville town leaders will meet tonight to discuss a recent presentation about merging with the Town of Leland. The special meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Belville Town Hall.

The towns mayors have been discussing the possibility of merging services, which they say would benefit residents. At least one Belville commissioner, though, says this is far from a done deal. Commissioner Chuck Bost, a former Leland Police officer, says he has his reservations.

A merger would reportedly mean higher taxes for Belville residents. It would also require legislative approval.
