Police looking for suspect in Sonic armed robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police are looking for a man who robbed the Sonic on Market Street last night at gunpoint.

Around 11:30 p.m. a suspect wearing a blue scarf over his face entered the rear of the Sonic when an employee had the door, which is normally kept locked, propped open during a smoke break. The suspect stuck a silver, automatic handgun in the manager's face and demanded money. The manager handed over the cash, and the suspect left in a black Chrysler Sebring down Cinema Drive.

The suspect was described as a thin black male about 5'6" with a grey shirt, black gloves and black and white checkered pajama-style pants.

If anyone has any information, call Wilmington Police at (910) 343-3600.
