Man shot in Columbus County after breaking and entering

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY)-- A man who investigators say broke into a home was shot Saturday afternoon.

It happened on Carver Road near Lake Waccamaw.

Sgt. Troy Webb of the Columbus County Sheriff's Office says Charles Barsh broke into the home of Jonathan Mintz.

Mintz allegedly took his gun into the bathroom where the two men got into a physical struggle.

Investigators say the gun went off and a bullet grazed the calf of Barsh in the confrontation.

Barsh has been arrested for breaking and entering and larceny.
