BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Robeson County man is in jail after investigators say he dropped his cell phone in a Bladen County home he broke into Wednesday morning.

Christopher Jermaine Kelso, 31, of Parkton, is charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, driving the wrong way on a dual lane highway and careless and reckless driving.

The Bladen County Sheriff's Office says a homeowner in Tar Heel came home to find an unknown man inside his house. The suspect drove away in a black Honda car.

Investigators say a deputy had to go into the median on NC 87 to avoid colliding with Kelso, who they say was driving on the wrong side of the road.

After the deputy stopped Kelso, the victim of the break-in arrived, and the suspect was taken into custody.

Investigators say Kelso broke in through a rear window, where he dropped his cell phone.

Kelso is in the Bladen County Jail under an $11,000 secured bond.

The police have to love it

The police have to love it when the criminals make their jobs easier.

Mensa

We can be pretty sure that this guy will not qualify for the genius club. When homeowners start shooting these punks, Chief Evangelous can retire and spend the restb of his life watering his plants.

Part true

The part about homeowners dropping these criminals sounds good to me, but I'm not sure how you draw WILMINGTON Police Chief Evangelous into a crime that happened in Bladen County.
