WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington City Council and the New Hanover County Commission could be taking steps to break the ice on their relationship. The two sides have announced a joint meeting next month.
A public notice from the county says commissioners and council members will meet together Aug. 9 at 9 a.m. at the New Hanover County Executive Development Center on Military Cutoff Road.
The relationship between the two governing bodies has been cool of late. Earlier this year County Commission chair Ted Davis pulled out of talks about a proposed ballpark when the city moved forward with a voluntary annexation of a parcel of land on Market Street that the county opposed.
