Sheriff: Deputy fatally shot in double shooting near Boone


WATAUGA COUNTY, NC (WSOCTV) -- A Watauga County deputy was shot and killed early Thursday morning, the sheriff’s office said.

The shooting happened at a house on Hardin Road, just off Highway 421, about six miles from Boone in the Deep Gap community around 1 a.m.

Officials said when deputies arrived, the suspect, whose name hasn’t been released, opened fire. One deputy was hit, and another returned fire, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputy William Mast Jr. died from injuries suffered in the shooting, officials said.

What a totally useless

What a totally useless article.... You left out, oh, basically ALL the information...
Why did the cops come at all, why did he have a gun out, Was anyone in danger BEFORE the police came... You all realize there actually MIGHT be a time you should shoot a crooked cop? I'm not saying this is it but I'm not boohooing for this cop nor the other man shot and killed until I have more information.

Just like anything else in the 24th judicial criminal racket, they will bury the truth if it hurts the extortion sham they are running. Too bad we have no information about what actually happened, as usual, unless it glorifies megalomaniac hillbillies as gods...
