WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A dozen students from Mosely Performance Learning Center and their bus driver were taken to the hospital this morning after they were involved in a fender bender in Wilmington. It happened at 13th and Dawson Streets.

The school district says the students and driver were taken to the hospital for observation, and that no major injuries had been reported. The district says parents were notified, and the school's principal is at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with some of the students. Others were taken to Cape Fear Memorial Hospital.

According to the district, police ticketed the driver of the car involved in the accident for pulling out in front of the bus.

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY, DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU CAN'T SLOW DOWN AND LET THE OTHER VEHICLE HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. IF YOU SEE A BUS, BIG RIG, OR A LOW BED TRUCK HAULING EQUIPMENT THATS HAVING TROUBLE MAKING A TURN, YOU CAN SLOW DOWN OR STOP UNTIL THEY SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THATS CALLED COURTESY OF THE ROAD AND COMMON SENSE.

oops

The ever so stealthy yellow bus grabs another victim.

WHEW!

Thank God nobody on that bus was hurt. People SLOW DOWN AND PAY ATTENTION! It's not just your own life you're endangering!

What?

What part of a big yellow bus coming at you can't you see? Perhaps you shouldn't be driving. Or did you think that you were more important than the ones on the bus?
