Annex Brunswick Co.

Wilmington really needs to start trying to annex neighboring parts in Brunswick County around Leland & Belville. They're the ones that are causing most of the wear & tear on our infrastructure, not Monkey Junction. ...or perhaps create a toll coming across the bridges into Wilmington, but make it free to leave out of Wilmington? City Council could make a killing on money from Lelandites entering our City.

Ridiculous idea Guest 1218.....

People from Leland are not the only ones crossing the bridge. New Hanover County residents who work at the businesses along 421 and in Brunswick County (Progress Energy Nuclear Facility, Sutton Steam Plant,Sunny Point, Invista, etc) come across the bridge everyday as well.

Also, when in Wilmington the Brunswick County residents you have such a strong disdain for patronize the businesses paying sales tax (that is higher than in Bruns Cty)which goes to your local economy.

Please do not plan any trips to Myrtle Beach in the near future - we do not want you causing wear & tear on our infrastructure in Brunswick County on the way to Myrtle Beach.

Annex Brunswick Co. ?

I have worked in Wilmington my entire life, offering my goods and services to people from everywhere including Wilmington. I have created jobs that people from Wilmington occupy and spend my money at business in Wilmington. Maybe we should annex narrow minded people like yourself.

Waste

It would probably be a waste of money. I don't think the city come out very good on their annexation of Monkey Junction.

That comment doesn't even

That comment doesn't even make sense. A lot of "lelandites" work in Wilmington to provide services to you, your family, and your friends. We also provide a lot of business that allows you, your family, and your friends to stay employed during these difficult times. The bridge is a problem, there is no doubt about that--but charging someone a fee just for living outside of wilmington is not the answer.

IF LELANDITES DIDN'T WORK IN

IF LELANDITES DIDN'T WORK IN WILMINGTON, THEN WILMINGTOIANS WOULD WORK YOUR JOBS AND YOU WOULDN'T HAVE TO CROSS THE BRIDGE. LIVE AND SHOP IN LELAND. PROBLEM SOLVED.
