N. 3rd Street paving may cost $1M more

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington leaders say it will cost even more to pave North 3rd Street.

After assessing the road and determining the need for higher quality pavement, the project will cost about $1 million more. The city says the pavement should hold up for at least 10 years. Paving should be finished by December.

City council will vote on that additional funding tomorrow night.

With all of the traffic engineers...

traffic planners, engineers, city planners, and meter maids, you'd think they could come a tad closer on the cost projections. But have no fear...the ballpark will cost $37 Million...before interest.

Another reason to vote NO on the stadium bond and to vote the existing council members out of office when they run for re-election.

This is an interesting situation.
They studied the road and determined it needs better asphalt. I can see the need for that as 3rd St is heavily traveled but what irks me about road paving is that within 3 weeks you will see someone digging up the road to do a repair of some sort.
And the patch put over that repair?
Typically second rate asphalt.

I get so aggravated...........
