WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The New Hanover County Republican Party meets to nominate someone to fill Ted Davis's old seat on the County Commission.
The party will hold a closed session starting at 6:30 p.m. at Jungle Rapids.
County commissioners have called a special meeting for Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the Government Center to consider the nomination. Commissioners do not have to accept it, but they do have to pick a Republican to fill the seat.
Davis resigned from the commission last night after the party nominated him replace Danny McComas in the state House of Representatives. McComas, who was not seeking reelection, is now the chairman of the NC Ports Authority.

I pray
I pray that the Republican Party listens to the votes last November and does NOT appoint Jason Thompson.. We voted him out... and I pray the uphold our votes..
My hope
They need a commissioner now and since baby boy is still a commissioner, he can't fill two seats*
*except for his ego.
