WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office is asking for help identifying the suspects who robbed a grocery store late Monday night.

It happened at the Food Lion at 6400-1 Carolina Beach Rd. around 11 p.m. Monday.

Investigators say two employees had locked up for the night and were heading toward their cars when a black male approached them from behind with a gun and ordered them back into the store. Detectives say he forced them to open the safe as a second black male appeared with a book bag. The two then reportedly forced the employees into a room and ordered them not to come out.

The Sheriff's Office has released surveillance images from the store showing the suspects and the car investigators believe they got away in.

If you have any information, call the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office at (910) 798-4200.
