WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A man is dead after a stabbing early this morning in Wilmington. Wilmington Police say it happened in the 3600 block of Metting Road around 12:30 a.m. Police are investigating it as a homicide.

A WPD spokeswoman says Timothy Wayne Chinn, 43, went to a friend's house on Metting Road, and while there, he apparently began fighting with another man inside the house. Police say during the fight Chinn was stabbed several times.

Investigators say EMS responded, but Chinn died at the scene and the suspect took off.

WPD asks anyone with information to call (910) 343-3600. Information can also be relayed anonymously through Text-A-Tip. Enter Tip708 and the information, and send to 274637 (CRIMES).

I would love to see a follow up.

With all they wrote it seems there should be more. (from the police)

Who was the friend who lived in the house?

Has he told them who did it or is he refusing to talk?
Some one could have a murderer living with them and not know it.
If the police know they should tell and protect the public.

this is a public housing project.

When will the Wilmington Public Housing Authority stand up and begin evicting the tenants who allow such activities within public funded housing?

Go further. Residents convicted of felonies should be out on the street and not even considered for public housing.

Perhaps maintaining safe living facilities should be a factor considered when granting the Executive Director, or VP or whatever his title is, a salary increase.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Chinn family! They are very special and amazing people! This is such a tragedy. Please keep them in your prayers during this horrific time.
