WILMINGTON NC (WWAY) -- Hundreds of people turned out at the Mayfaire movie theatre to dance for a cure.
A flash mob was held as the first ever dance for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which helps over 30,000 children in the United States deal with the rigors of CF.
"In just forty years ago kids who were born with CF didn't live out of their teens,” said Lani Hoshimoto. “Now the expected life length for most kids with CF is in their thirties and their forties and includes things like really aggressive treatment like double lung transplant. It's a really life limiting disease that we're really making progress on."
The flash mob also sang happy birthday to a little girl named Josey, who suffers from CF and was celebrating her first birthday.
