WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- The pedestrian struck by a taxi cab Saturday morning at Wrightsville Beach has been released from the hospital.

Just after 1:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Causeway Drive, Surf City resident Kathryn Ward reportedly ran into oncoming traffic when getting out of a cab.

A different cab that was traveling eastbound struck Ward.
