Hurricane Sandy causes Snow's Cut Bridge work delay

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The North Carolina Department of Transportation (DOT) says work originally scheduled to begin today on the Snow's Cut Bridge will not start, due to Hurricane Sandy blowing through the region.

Closures for bridge maintenance will take four lanes down to two, but the DOT has not issued a new date for construction.

Once construction begins, the work is expected to take approximately four months to complete.
