BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Leland man is dead after an accident on Highway 17 near Leland.
Highway Patrol has identified the victim as Levi Sovie, 35.
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. near Goodman Road.
Troopers say Sovie's SUV veered off the road into a construction site in the median while traveling northbound on Highway 17. The vehicle flipped, and Sovie was ejected before hitting a large piece of construction equipment. He died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and troopers say no one else was in the SUV with the driver.

People should always slow down and be alert in construction zones
