WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- After a couple of weeks of delays, a long-term work project on the Snow's Cut Bridge will start Friday.
Traffic on the ridge on Carolina Beach Road/US 421 over the Intracoastal Waterway will be reduced from four to two lanes while crews conduct extensive repair work. One lane will remain open to traffic in each direction throughout the project, which is expected to last approximately four months.
Cones and other traffic-control devices will be in place to direct motorists using the bridge. The lane closures will remain in place during the entire construction period.
Teh work was supposed to start last month, but was delayed twice, including as a result of weather from Hurricane Sandy.
