WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police are asking for help searching for a missing elderly woman. Alma Lawson, 83, was last heard from at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday. A family member says Lawson is believed to be experiencing the early signs of dementia.
Lawson is believed to have been on foot when she left her home in the 1500 block of Stanley Street (in the Love Grove community). She told a friend that she was headed home, and she has not been seen since.
Lawson is a black woman, about 5'5" tall, weighing 102 pounds. When last seen, she was wearing a lavender shirt, black pants and a black jacket.
Anyone who may have seen Lawson is asked to call the Wilmington Police Department at (910) 343-3600.

Please let us know what we as citizens can do to help find Ms.Lawson. If a seacrh party is being formed please let us know what we can do to help in addition to praying for a safe return home to her family.
