CHAPEL HILL, NC (AP) -- The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has issued a warning to students, faculty and staff after an assault on a street near the campus.
The school issued a "timely warning message" early Wednesday after two females were struck and a shot was fired at a nearby business. No one was hurt by the gunfire around 2 a.m.
There were no other details about the assault. Police say the suspect could have run toward the campus.
The warning message says officials do not think there is an immediate threat to those on campus.
