Man wanted for Sneads Ferry assault

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- The Onslow County Sheriff's Office is looking for David Anthony Cramer, 33, on several charges, including first degree kidnapping.

The charges stem from an incident on November 26 in Sneads Ferry that left a 20-year-old man seriously injured. Investigators say around 8 p.m. the victim and two friends were lured to Laib Lane. They say a truck came from across the road and blocked their vehicle from leaving. Deputies say the five suspects got out of their truck and let the victim's two friends leave in their vehicle. They then beat the victim with their hands, feet and a baseball bat, held a knife to the victim's throat and put him into one of their vehicles and drove farther down the road, where they continued to assault him.

He was able to escape and went to a nearby home, where he was given refuge. A person at the home called 911, and EMS took the victim Onslow Memorial Hospital.

The four other suspects are in custody: James William Bowman, 45, Michael Jay Jones, 24, Robin Andrew Edens, 30, Jason Henry Schindler, 36.

All five suspects face charges of felony first degree kidnapping, felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony assault with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy.
