Pender Co. Schools to discuss converting two schools to K-5


PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Pender County Schools wants input on whether to convert two schools that that currently have students in three grades each to both have kindergarten through fifth grades.

The school district will hold public hearings about the proposal to convert Rocky Point Primary and Cape Fear Elementary schools to K-5 facilities. Meetings will take place as follows:

January 28, 6:30 p.m., Cape Fear Elementary - Multi-purpose Room
January 29, 6:30 p.m., Rocky Point Primary – Gym
January 30, 6:30 p.m., Burgaw Elementary - Cafeteria

Rocky Point Primary is currently at K-2 school. Cape Fear Elementary has students in third, fourth and fifth grades.
