CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Man breaks into store through roof

SURF CITY, NC (WWAY) -- Surf City Police have released surveillance video of a man who broke into a store earlier this month through the ceiling. Police say it happened just after 3 a.m. Jan. 9 at Tsunami Surf Shop at 13523 NC 50 in Surf City.

Investigators say the suspect appears to be a white male between 15 and 25 years old, about 5'10" with a medium build.

Police say he entered from an air conditioning duct on the roof of the store. They say he dropped about 30 feet and landed on a metal display rack with a glass plate on the top rack, which police say broke when he landed.

Investigators say surveillance video (above) shows the suspect apparently limping through the store.

Police say he left out the back door of the store after about 15 minutes with about $700 worth of merchandise.

Police are looking for help identifying the suspect or his car, which was also caught on camera. Anyone with information can contact Surf City Police at (910) 328-7711 or e-mail jclaxton@surfcitypolice.com.

"Without video sound...there's no proof!" (That will be his attorney's argument if he's caught).
Here's a good tune for this video:
