School bus tires slashed at Topsail High

READ MORE:

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Some students in Pender County got a late start to their school day after vandals apparently targeted school buses.

A statement from Pender County Schools says at 5:15 a.m., bus drivers arrived to begin their routes and found flat tires on 15 buses parked at Topsail High School. The school district says the damage led to a disruption of bus service for the five Topsail area schools.

Crews replaced 32 tires by 9:45 a.m., and  buses began their normal routes. Tardies for students affected are excused.

The district does not yet know the total cost of the vandalism. The Pender County Sheriff’s Department is assisting with the investigation.

Oh man

That's terrible, from the looks of it those tires they were putting on in the video are virgin rubber Goodyears, the state probably pays somewhere around $250 a piece for them at that size. The tires alone must have cost at a minimum $8000.

SICK. JUST PLAIN SICK. HOPE
