Officials say incense to blame for two separate fires

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- New details on two fires in New Hanover County yesterday. Officials say that the same thing is to blame for both incidents.

Fire officials say that unattended incense caused a mobile home to catch fire on the 4200 block of Gordon Road just before 2 a.m. Officials say it was left burning in the living room.

The New Hanover County Fire Department says that incense is also to blame for the fire at Russo's Motel in Carolina Beach yesterday afternoon. No one was hurt.

Officials have no word yet on the extend of the damage.

DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE FIRE OFF GORDON RD. BUT AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE ONE AT CB. EXPLOSION FROM INCENSE? NEVER HEARD OF THAT BEFORE. THINK IT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER ON THAT ONE. WHAT CAUSED THE EXPLOSION?

This can happen, my husband just did it, left an incense on my antique dresser, talking about it was just smoking and the stick was too long to ignite anything and left out of the room,, several minutes later all hell broke lose and we began to hear loud popping sounds and went to investigate,the top of my whole my dresser was burned to a crisp.... so it can happen.
