PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Topsail High School student is charged with multiple crimes in connection with slashed bus tires at the school.
The Pender County Sheriff's Office says Lance Houck, 18, of Hampstead, is charged with 15 counts of damage to personal property and one count of disorderly conduct.
Early on Jan. 31, bus drivers arriving for their shift at Topsail High School found tires slashed on 15 buses. Crews had to replace 32 tires.
Houck's bond is set at $18,000 secure. He's due back in court March 12.

restitution
If convicted, force him to pay back not only for the cost of the replacement tires, but for the labor it took to swap them as well as the expense of any wheel weights, valve stems that may have been used to balance them.
That's a fine way to exit high school!
Or perhaps NOT exit! One more year for the senior loser! A criminal record to boot.
Nice going Lance! You're on the fast track for being a local Darwin Files candidate! I'll bet you have really made your parents proud this time!
Bad Bad Boy!
I sure hope Mommy and Daddy didn't go bail him out of jail. He is 18 and should answer for his actions. Make his a** sit in jail until his court date! Teach him a lesson.
Reimbursement to The Counties
This Lance Houck or his Parents must be sued by the Counties in Civil Court for the amount to replace these damaged bus tires -- exceeding $12,000. + which is just for the costs of the tires alone. The Service Charge & Labor alone -- just to remove and replace these 32 bus tires by: "whoever" will amount to over: $3,000.00 ++ for -- which somebody has to pay for.
Little Lance Houck does the Crime, then He has to do the Time as well as re-pay both Counties for all damages, fees, and time lost. This B/S has got to stop and the Courts must make some examples as to what is going to happan. No Pity on: "Poor Little Lance" from this side of Wilmington.
