Charlotte, Panthers reach deal; will ask state for $62.5M


CHARLOTTE, NC (WSOC) -- The Charlotte City Council has reached an agreement to ensure the Panthers remain in Charlotte, city officials said Friday.

The total city investment is $143.75 million over 15 years. The Panthers contribution will be $96.25 million over 15 years, officials said.

The city and the Panthers have requested $62.5 million from the state.

I don't believe there are any provisions in the Constitution that allows State Government to do this type of give away to the Billionaire's Beggars Clubs of America.
The state directs counties cities and towns to enact certain taxes for this type of thing. For instance Charlotte will pay their share because they are increasing the beverage and prepared food tax. (I guess raising taxes is a GOOD IDEA to some REPUBLICANS).

I would hope that Tillis and Berger stand up to this outrageous waste of government money
