Driver injured after SUV flips, slides across oncoming lanes

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A SUV rollover tied up traffic on Oleander Drive and Independence Blvd. this afternoon in Wilmington.

The SUV slid on its roof across two oncoming lanes of traffic and onto the Cross-City Trail.

Wilmington Police say the driver was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where they say he appears to be in stable condition.

Some important details have been left out ...

Why is there no mention of the condition of the driver prior to this escapade?

Were there drugs or alcohol involved?

How in the world could a driver otherwise "slide across two oncoming lanes of traffic" and into a Trail on a warm, dry day with normal road conditions?

These insane drivers need to be taken off the roads!

Wow!that's 4 single vehical

Wow!that's 4 single vehical crashes in one day,in our area. How fast was the suv going to flip over and slide that far?And the trooper? well we have all seen them tearing it up around here.Just a week ago the sherif's deputy was street racing with motorcycles.Distracted while speeding is one of the reasons.I wish people would stay off the phone while driving. No phone call is worth someones life!

To your questions about 4

To your questions about 4 vehicle wrecks on the same day...there most likely was a gravity shift in those areas due to the oncoming asteroid this Friday...and flipped those vehicles...nothing to do with this part of the state having some of the worse accident rates.

God is Great.. Beer is good .. and ppl are crazy.
