FIRST ON 3: Marshals arrest fugitive in Wilmington


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The US Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force caught a man today wanted for a home invasion last spring in New Hanover County.

Deputies say Jonathan Kiger and his accomplices broke into an apartment on Bent Creek Road April 30 with an AR 15 rifle, a baseball bat and a stun gun.

The Marshals Service say they arrested Kiger, 23, in a shopping center on New Center Drive this afternoon with the help of Wilmington Police.

Kiger faces multiple counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping and burglary.

According to the NC Department of Corrections website, Kiger's criminal history includes multiple convictions for DWI, breaking and entering, larceny and drug possession.
