Firefighters put out flames at Carolina Beach home

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- Firefighters put out flames into Thursday morning at a Carolina Beach home that was under construction.

According to New Hanover County Dispatch, the call came in just before 11:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The home on Virginia Avenue, near Canal Drive, was fully under construction, and dispatchers say they do not believe anyone was living there yet.

The fire was put out around 11:15 Wednesday night, but crews worked into the morning hours Thursday to monitor hotspots.

Crews are investigating the cause of the fire.

New Hanover County Fire Services.
I worry when beach houses catch fire due to the proximity of nearby homes and the normal breeziness coming off the ocean.
Another job well done.

Vog

Well done by all.

Breeziness?

Vog you such an idiot, yeah there is wind at the beach, there is wind everywhere sometimes more places then others. But it's a risk you take when you live at the beach. All home owners know that when you live at the beach. You have the ocean and the river breeze on each side.

Just like hurricane threat, you have a wind threat.

Thanks to the men and women of the CB fire dept great job.

Vog get a life

Couldn't find your glasses? Regularity issues, or conversely, run out of toilet paper?

What is your problem? Attacking Vog just because he said houses are built closer at the beach and these's more wind is just rude.

Instead if telling others to "get a life", perhaps your time could be more efficiently utilized repairing you own.

Good job CBFD...

whats your problem, llilly and 0474? HURRICANE AND WIND THREAT DOESN'T ONLY APPLY TO BEACHES, BUT EVERYWHERE. JUST ASK THE WILD FIRE FIGHTERS. OR DIDN'T YOU KNOW THAT? ITS A RISK YOU TAKE WHEN YOU LIVE ANY PLACE. NIT-PICKIN.
