READ MORE:

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Azalea Festival has announced a third and final concert slated for downtown Wilmington next month.

Colt Ford will perform Saturday, April 13, at Cape Fear Community College. Tickets for the concert go on sale Saturday at 9 a.m. on the festival's website.

Ford, who's music combines country and rap, is a former professional golfer.

His concert rounds out an Azalea Festival bill that includes Lynyrd Skynyrd on Thursday, April 11, and the Avett Brothers on Friday, April 12. Tickets to those two shows are also available on the Azalea Festival's website.

This year the festival concerts have moved from UNCW's Trask Coliseum to a parking lot at CFCC at Front and Hanover streets. The Saturday night concert also represents a change from past years.

Yay! This will be an awesome

Yay! This will be an awesome show. I can not believe Lynard Skynard is the headliner! They are like 80 years old. Wow! It is nice to see a different group come in,the Avett brothers are kinda old here in these parts. Their music is ok but, why are we bringing the same people back again and again?

Colt who???

Wow...our Azalea Festival is big time now!!!! What happened to the days of Frank Sinatra...Reba Macintire....and the other big celebrities we used to get??? Oh...that's right...we are now expected to pay big bucks to sit in a parking lot so what can we expect? Out of the three acts there is only one that I know. Honestly...the Pleasure Island Seafood and Jazz festival each year is so much better! One fee for the whole day...beautiful surroundings...and always a great feature artist. I think I'll wait to spend my money on a much better value!

PEOPLE WHO LOVE TO SHARE THEIR LITTLE BLACK CLOUD &HUMM.?.AGE?

Before you totally crash on a band or an event don't you think you could possible give that band and event a chance... At least listen to Colt Ford and his band ... I'm not a fan at all of your first 2 choices but I've never posted negative thoughts about them .... I've always said to each his own but when I pulled this post up that is titled COLT WHO??? Really lady??? That is some way to welcome back one of the most real and down to earth bands I have ever heard and yes that's my option!!!and the only reason I happened to read this negative post is because I am a 50 plus female who is not ashamed to say that the way I first heard Mr. Ford and his band was thru my 25 yoa son and have been hooked every since. I'm not saying your wrong or unconnected or even uncool !! I'm just saying that some of us are finally saying oh thank God!!!! Or HELL YEA!! and that's me and am hoping like hell I can get tickets to this most cool !! Unpretentious concert.... I have absolutely nothing against REBA BUT IF FRANK IS WHAT GETS YOU MOVING??? Then you may be right to stay with what's safe and by all means ever try anything new!!! Enjoy your one price for all events with scenery included and don't forget to dig that hole and stick your head in it!!! Now I gotta go!! I was only on this site to try and get tickets for Colt Ford Concert....We love you Colt Ford and hope to see you real soon!!!.......GOOD GOD A MIGHTY!! ;-)

I'd rather see the Air Show

This Azalea festival has gotten way out of hand. It's been portrayed as benefiting some charities, but they're taking over downtown, and collecting a boatload of money. I wonder where it really goes?

As far as the concert goes, they've already blocked off second street between the Cape Fear CC lots. I guess it takes a month and a half to build the stage.

I thought Lil Wayne was

I thought Lil Wayne was going to play his :-(Come Back Tour)-: ,backed up by Justin Bieber/Britney Spears and a special guest appearance by Teen Mom 1 & 2?????
I prefer Willie Nelson...but it's been said the bands Doobie Seeds pop too much and could cause a fire hazard.
Win some...Lose some :-(
