WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- Wrightsville Beach officials met with the NCDOT today for an update on the drawbridge project.
The bridge has been under full time construction since October.
The DOT says the bridge will be back to four lanes by April 1 with town officials hoping to open traffic for Easter weekend. There will be several night closures from April through June, and full-time work will return for the other half of the bridge in the fall.

Kudos
To NCDOT. They said what would happen and it did happen. Time frames were met - appropriate warnings given, and all "suffering" was minimalized.
Same thing with the Snow's Cut project.
Seems to be on schedule.
It's got to be hard to do this type of thing without getting someone mad but they've been very good over the last couple of years making sure people know whats going on.
Nicely done, AGAIN - NCDOT.
