WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- State troopers say no children were injured when a New Hanover County School bus was rear-ended by two vehicles Thursday morning.
The accident happened just before 7 a.m. at Market and Creekwood Streets in Wilmington.
Troopers say there was only one child on the bus at the time of the crash, and they believe the bus heading to pick up elementary school students.
Troopers say the bus and another car were stopped on Market St. when a Wilmington Mortuary van rear-ended the car, sending the car that was hit into the left side of the bus.
There was no serious damage to the bus, but another arrived on scene after the trooper cleared.
A trooper says the person driving the mortuary van was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and was carrying something in the back of the van at the time of the crash.
There is no word yet on what school the bus was heading to.
