DOT to close part of NC 904 starting Monday

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (NEWS RELEASE) -- The NC Department of Transportation will close a section of NC 904/Seaside Road 0.8 miles south of US 17 near Grissettown in Brunswick County from Monday at 7 a.m. until Monday, May 6, at 5 p.m. for a pipe replacement.

Motorists traveling on this section of NC 904 should use the following signed detour:
·Take NC 179/NC 904/Seaside Road to NC 179/Beach Drive to NC 179/Bricklanding Road/Village Road to NC 179/NC 130/Whiteville Road, to US 17/Ocean Highway.

Motorists should allow for extra travel time, stay alert and use alternate routes when possible during this period.

NC904 detour:

Your instructions do not make easy following. The Brunswick County Map that I have does not show Brick Landing Road. Trust that you have easy to find and read detour signs (especially at night) or we're going to have a lot of lost 'residents' - never mind visitors from the north.....
