We already miss you!!!

May your life in heaven be as happy and fullfilled as it was on earth. Your memory will always be strong in my heart like you never left. May you touch as many lives in heaven as you did here, I will never forget your warm smile!! I love you and rest in peace. My prayer and thoughts go out to his family, espically his children and his mother.

Grow up.

You guys are rude and for those of you who didnt know him you have no room to talk about whether he was drinking either way he is gone.so be considerate to HIS FAMILY we are all hurt! My uncle was a good man it shouldnt matter if he was drinking that doesnt make people care less or more.

This is someone's dad,

This is someone's dad, regardless of the circumstances, he is not here today. My niece and nephew are now orphans, they lost their mom in 1996. Nobody knows at this time whether he was drinking or not. RIP Ziggy!!!!!!!

DROWNING

SAVE YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT IF AND WHO WAS DRINKING AND HAVE SOME COUTESY FOR THIS MANS FAMILY AND SEND THE FAMILY LEFT BEHIND SOME SYMPATHY DONT YOU THINK THIS WOULD BE WHAT YOU WOULD WANT IF IT WAS YOUR FAMILY MEMBER FUNNY HOW PEOPLE FORGET COMMON COURTESY THESE DAYS

why dont you keep your thoughts to yourself

If you werent there then dont speculate. Think of the family and friends of the victim. Its not a good situation and im so sorry that they are going through this rough time. My thoughts are with the family and friends.

The investigators are the one's speculating...

...the news media is reporting what the investigators said. This is a free world, this is a forum to discuss the news as it is reported and that is what the posters are doing.

Dangerous water

There was nothing stating that alcohol was involved! I grew up in Castle Hayne just down from there. There are strong currents in that area and I know of 2 people that have died in that same area because the undertow was so strong. One of them was a great swimmer and on the Fire Department.

Its

called reading...you should try it before posting.

Hey! Hold my beer and watch this...

What a waste of a human life because of consuming too much alcohol.

Salt on a wound

After learning the news of this incident yesterday through a phone call I was shocked and disheartened over the lose of someone I had know his whole life. While I understand the comment that you made was more sympathetic than the subject title, put yourself in the families position. They are currently dealing with many emotions during this painful time and your subject line only adds to their lose. Consider this the next time you comment on a story.

Watch what you say that

Watch what you say that person was a loved one

He did not die of alcohol!

He did not die of alcohol! You have no room to talk and you are very inconsiderate to all of us being his family! Show some respect and keep your rude comments to yourself.

Were you there?

where does it say there was alcohol involved?

Updated in the story

From the story: Investigators say the man may have been drinking before trying to swim across the river."

I started drinking on the way to work today...

...and it was some darned good coffee!!!

A lie

There is no such thing as good coffee.

They said "may have, not

They said "may have, not was."

Yes

But SCT asked where did it state drinking was involved.

Think about it Tom, not much

Think about it Tom, not much else goes on at that park.

Never been there

but, there was no reference to alcohol in the initial report. Regardless, that was an insensitive comment made while a family deals with the loss of a family member. Even I have never made such a thoughtless post.

Considering the source of the comment, I'm not surprised..

When a man (who later told the court he's crazy) drove into a restaurant after having his political opinion insulted, the same poster said he/she could "expect a right-winger to get po'ed enough to run you down with a car" without any evidence of the driver's political affiliation.

But when the reverse proved to be the case, the poster said of the woman who was the victim of the attack "Next time she will hush...opinions have consequences."
