Business holds electronics recycling event off Oleander Drive

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Happening this week local business "Your Computer Friends" is having an electronics recycling event. They are accepting printers, phones, cell phones, batteries, cables, copiers, fax machines, and desktop and laptop computers.

The last event gathered more than 6 tons of electronic waste from the community.

One woman says it's held during Earth Week so they can do their part for recycling and taking care of the earth.

"We don't want to put all of those poisonous metals in our landfills and our future generations don't want toxics in the ground and the water that we live on. It's a great time, it's an awareness time for people so it's a great time to do a recycling event," Susan Kadar the Your Computer Friends owner says.

Susan Kadar says she wants to make it easy for people to do the right thing.

You can drop off through Friday from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. at 3816 Oleander Drive behind Whole Foods.
