WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) -- Initial reports that Johnny Depp may be filming a movie here may be untrue.

After checking with local film sources, it appears rumors of Depp coming to the Port City to film a movie have been circulating for some time.

Postings recently on The Wilmington Casting Call's Facebook page, Axcesstalent.com and Craigslist.com indicated casting for principal, supporting and extra roles had begun for the alleged unnamed Depp film.

Boohoo. This is the clown who never missed a chance to bad
mouth the U. S. while he was living in France. If I recall, he
stated the U.S. was like a "stupid little puppy." Stay away from
Wilmington. We have enough Hollywood hypocrites telling us already
what a rotten country this is while counting their millions.

You are so on the mark. Have not watched any film he or Susan Whatshername have been in since all of their negative comments about the war and the troops and don't plan on watching them either. As a matter of fact I have not watched any of Jane Fonda's movies since her show of blatant disrespect during the Viet Nam war era. I refuse to support their egos. Do I agree with this war.......no..........but I support the troops. Did they choose to be soldiers, sailors, marines etc........yes.....many as a way to support their families as jobs have become more scarce everywhere. JD is making megabucks off of people he detests and thinks are stupid and so are those other two. Some will not agree with me but as the child of someone who did 2 tours in Viet Nam because he chose to support his family in a time honored tradition I am entitled to my opinions. He was a poor country boy from a small country town in the late 50's with no hope of any work on the horizon. He left us too early due to this awful war. Love you daddy and am still as proud of you as I was then.

I don't think you will have to worry about Mr. Depp coming to Wilmington anyway Guest Upset Not!!!!!. Before all is said and done...keeping the film business here will be the order of the day, regardless of what any actor(s) may or may not say about our country and its leaders politics. And that goes for the 10 cent films made here that go straight to DVD...and they can take Ms.Teen Mom with them too if they go :-)

Although Mr. Depp is apparently skilled at his craft, as are others at theirs, that is no longer important. His making offensive remarks about his home country is also unimportant. The only thing important about a person today is how many people are aware of another person's existence. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the very fact of your own personal "unknowness" means that your post has no value at all. Now it you were Mr. Depp on the other hand, a meaningless two-character tweet would have the kind of insightfulness you could never hope to achieve in your entire lifetime.

The number of times a person has been seen on a TV or movie screen is most important. The number of "friends" who're are willing to select "like" when you post that you just brushed your teeth is very important. The amount of people who will follow or at least look at your deep, deep, totally insightful world-changing 140 character tweets is totally important. Surely, you're aware of the fact that although most of those people don't really know you or have never even met you, that has no relevence any more, aren't you? It's all about the superficial numerical body count!

Why are you so fixated on the past? Don't you know that actual accomplishments are yesterday's news? It's way past time for you to stop selfishly putting emphasis on things that really matter and start becoming a lot more superficial. Our society will never evolve to the next level if dinosaurs like yourself keep holding it back.

Get with the program!

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, bbbbblllllaaaahhhh. Another liberal.
That's all Wilmington needs!!!!

So to say that a person should be valued for actually accomplishing something instead of being valued for accomplishing nothing except for being seen by others is a liberal thing? Gee, I always thought that basic good old fashioned values were a conservative thing. Probably not a good idea to label someone liberal or conservative if you really have no idea which one is which. Kinda stupid.

Never mind what "Wilmington needs". What you need is to educate yourself.

Then again, maybe you're just confused because you're still jonesing over missing the latest episode of "Honey Boo Boo meets the Kardashians". Apparently, in your world, that's the kind of thing that really counts for something.
