WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The chair of the New Hanover County Republican Party has been named to the state Board of Elections.

Gov. Pat McCrory announced Rhonda Amoroso is one of the three Republicans who will join the board May 1. Prior to becoming party chair, Amoroso was vice chair in charge of election operations. She was also a member of Gov. McCrory's transition team after he won election last fall.

Amoroso will be joined on the Board of Elections by fellow Republicans Josh Howard, a Wake County attorney, and Paul Foley, an attorney from Forsyth County.

McCrory also appointed two Democrats: Joshua Malcom, chair of the Robeson County Board of Elections and Maja Kricker, chair of the Chatham County Board of Elections.

Great choice! A real stand

Great choice! A real stand up, honest Lady.

Wow

And the corruption never stops

Cat Gott your tongue?

- Gov: “Welcome new board members. I just thought I’d check in for a moment and see if anyone has any questions or comments … (silence) ... Rhonda, you’re always so pushy … err … sorry … I meant to say animated … you look like you want to say something … cat Gott your tongue?”
- Rhonda: “Well … I was just thinking about this poor woman who I tried to get appointed to something, but they all discriminated against her just because she was Hispanic, even though hardly anyone even knew she was Hispanic until I told everyone they were discriminating against her just because she was … Anyway ... we've Gott to appoint her to something ……. “
- Gov: “Sounds like a plan … where’s she from?”
- Rhonda: “She lives in Brunswick County and she’s Gott a law office in Wilmington and … whoops … my bad … I meant to say she lives in … (brief pause) … Wilmington … and I think she’d be excellent for ……………”

Cronyism at it's finest!

Cronyism at it's finest! Amoroso and the rest of this area's GOP are a laughable embarrassment to the region. Just look at the people they chose to support and promote.

Yet another carpet-bagger with deep enough pockets to buy themselves a seat in Raleigh.

And the beat goes on

Cronyism

Is alive and well.

This is the same woman that was pushing Melissa Gott a Brunswick county resident to run for county Commissioner here in New Hanover.

Gotta love it when incompetence is rewarded. This looks more and more like Smiley's administration every day.

The Spoils/Patronage system

The Spoils/Patronage system has been around for more than a short while: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:In_memorium--our_civil_service_as_it_w...

Four out of twenty-four months of this Republican General Assembly have already elapsed with no visible signs of economic improvement.

Chairwoman Amoroso has received her reward from party higher ups, nothing more, nothing less. Instead of criticizing her "buying" her office, lets look at who put it up for sale in the first place.
