Police get warrants for Carolina Beach fight

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) -– Twelve days after a brawl between as many as 60 people that sent four men to the hospital, Carolina Beach Police detectives have gotten warrants in the case.

According to a witness, whose identity we have chosen to withhold due to her age, two separate groups of people had had been out on the Royal Winner Princess II Party Cruise April 27.

When they returned to shore, her group was trying to decide on rides home when her 32-year-old cousin got in a verbal altercation with a member of the other group, which she believed to be from Clinton.

"The dude started rambling on about something and pushed my cousin, and then after that it was like chaos," the teenage witness to the fight said. "People surrounded him, and from what I could see they were beating him up pretty bad, but my father came in and yanked someone off of him and beat him to the ground. Then this random dude came out of nowhere and tried to hit my dad so my first reaction was to try and run and stop the conflict between my dad and this random dude. This man came between me and my dad and threw a swing at me and it hurt."

During the altercation the witness says her cousin tried to use a shovel to protect himself but was repeatedly hit in the head with bricks from a nearby building. He suffered severe head trauma and was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he underwent emergency surgery.

At this time Carolina Beach Police are not releasing the identities of the three men named in the warrants. Sampson County Sheriff's deputies and probation officers are currently working with Carolina Beach Police to apprehend the men.

Why don't you move

If you hate CB so much, then just move. I am so sick and tired of hearing all the bad "reputation" bs about Carolina Beach.
I have lived in this area for 35 years and I grew up on the beach. I am a very successful business woman and it really disgusts me to hear these things. Yes, CB has bikers, yes CB has bars, yes, CB has some "interesting" elements, but it is my opinion that it is a great family beach and has always been a good place to live or visit until these Yankees moved down here and decided to change the world. The rednecks are not the problem! GO HOME!

And just when you thought it couldn't get any dumber .....

you come out with the old, stupid, "blame it on a Yankee" crap even though the incident was completely Southern in origin. Let me repeat that moron, completely Southern in origin.

You will probably never have any idea how stupid that makes you look. If you did, you never would have said it.

With that giant chip on your shoulder, life must be difficult for you. Pathetic.

Will this hurt the chances

Will this hurt the chances of Jubilee Park being rebuilt?

Carolina Beach has always had the reputation of being the "redneck beach". The actions, as described by this young lady (both in substance and manner) only reaffirm that reputation.

I think a fair question would be; If the party boat were at another beach, could this have happened? Most likely, yes. These folks were at Carolina Beach because that is where the charter boats are based.

Okay, Wrightsville Beach may be the exception, with their "felon cams" and all.

I don't consider us to be "rednecks"...but, given the choice of a snobbish beach and Carolina Beach, we're heading across the Snow's Cut bridge.

You're kidding, right?

A boat-load of out-of-town party goers gets into a brawl at the marina and you want to throw all of Carolina Beach under the bus? Guess we should blame the residents of Boston for the marathon bombing, eh? Hats'off to the Carolina Beach Police Department for their vigilance in seeking out these "tourons" and charging them all with the ruckus - the town's actions send a clear message; show your butt on vacation, leave on probation.

Tourons Justin?

How about Tourorists?????

Yes this people came from

Yes this people came from Sampson County. That is normal behavior for "ding_batters".

Its a good thing...

It sure is a good thing that this trash wasnt from Carolina Beach. They were from across the bridge and up the road. Its just a shame that they had to bring it over the bridge and disgrace Carolina Beach.

Your comment is extrememly ignorant in assessing what happened. This girl ISNT from Carolina Beach, so the only thing she is reaffirming is the ignorace and trash she brought over from the other side of the bridge.

Redneck Beach

Guest, Carolina Beach wasn't necessarily known as the "redneck beach" because of the people who lived there, but because that's where all the rednecks from "the other side of the bridge" seemed to frequent.

Thank You

Thanks for pointing out my lack of clarity. I will try again:

Carolina Beach has always had the reputation of being the "beach of choice" for rednecks. The actions, as described by this young lady (both in substance and manner) only reaffirm that reputation.

Not all bikers

are red necks. But in the 80's, Carolina Beach was the beach of preference for bikers other than during the bike week in Myrtle Beach.
