Children's Museum reaches fundraising goal for new exhibit

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The Children's Museum of Wilmington reached its goal to raise money for a new children's Imagination Playground.

The museum says it raised the $5,000 needed with help from the community.

The big blue block exhibit is for children to build whatever they can imagine.

The museum says a grand opening for the new playground will be announced later this summer.

No taxes??

Am I correct to assume that all of this money was raised without going to the City Council and asking for my (tax) money??? I am freaking impressed and, if this is true, I WILL be leaving a, voluntary, donation.

Alumni? Seahawk Boosters?

Pay attention to this story.
With the Chancellor now saying that the reserves are no longer viable here's how we SHOULD proceed.
Temporarily eliminate the least popular sports or the most costly sports while maintaining compliance with Title IX and CAA rules.
Then tell the Alumni and Boosters that other sports will be added back in when, and if, the reserve gets built back up.
Get the money together up front.........
The Childrens Museum did it.
Can the Alumni from UNCW do it too?

Why did the chicken cross

Why did the chicken cross the road?

To show the opossum that it can be done.

Good job, museum.
