WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Families kicked off Memorial Day weekend with a splash Saturday. All three public pools around Wilmington opened their doors for the season. And the cooler than normal weather didn't keep kids from getting in the water.
"Once they opened it up, we were running to the pool," said 10-year-old Jenna Richardson. "The people kept saying no running. Then we jumped in the pool as quick as we could! Then we had a bunch of fun."
Legion Pool, Robert Strange Pool, and Northside pool each charge $2 for adults and $1 for children. The Northside splash pad is free of charge.
All pools are open from 12-5pm on Memorial Day.
