American Legion Post 10 donates flags to New Hanover County Schools

Wilmington's American Legion Post 10 will donate more than 50 American flags to New Hanover County Schools for classrooms, libraries and media centers. The veterans group will make the donation at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.

Couple charged after deputy breaks shoulder during arrest attempt

A Fairmont man is in jail charged with assaulting and injuring a Bladen County Sheriff's deputy yesterday. The Sheriff's Office says Dep. Kenny Simmons broke his shoulder in four places and will require surgery.

Lifetime pilot shooting in Wilmington

The Wilmington Regional Film Commission says another production is shooting in Wilmington. "Witches Of East End," starring Julia Ormond, is a new pilot for Lifetime produced by Fox 21. Production offices are opening this week with the 10-day shoot scheduled for mid-October.

Wilmington man convicted of bank robberies

More than two years after he pulled off two bank heists just days apart, a Wilmington man has been convicted of the crimes. A federal jury found Reggie Andre Beckton guilty of two counts of bank robbery.
